I think it's pretty self explanatory what this blogfest is about. It's hosted by Ninja Captain Alex, again, obvious since it's all in the badge. At first I was worried I wouldn't be able to come up with my top ten movies. Yeah, there are tons I like, but love? Adore? Worship? That's a bit trickier. After looking at my movies and a little thinking, I came up with my top ten list of movies I turn into a squealing fan girl over. Enjoy.

First up, I'll start with a few blasts from my childhood.
When I was little I wanted to be a mermaid just like Ariel. I thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world. I loved singing along to the songs, my favorite is Part of Your World. I have yet to see the sequel and while I don't doubt it won't be amazing, I still want to check it out one day if only because it's the sequel to the Little Mermaid.

Edward Scissorhands was my introduction to Tim Burton and Danny Elfman (and yes, Johnny Depp.) The music and the visuals were ingrained in my mind. I loved the fairytale feeling of the story and it reminded me of Rudyard Kipling's Just So stories. Fun fact, I lived in a town called Kipling and now I live by a town called Rudyard. Both were named because of Rudyard Kipling.

Scott Pilgrim Vs the World
wasn't what I expected. I was really thrown off by the video game aspect at first, but it quickly won me over. I think my favorite part is when the first evil ex breaks into song. All the characters are like WTF??????

I am not a big fan of holiday movies, but Elf is one that I don't mind seeing every year. In fact, I like it so much I bought it recently. Maybe I'll make it a holiday tradition... in the middle of summer! HA!

Serial killers fascinate me, but despite that I am hesitant to watch serial killer movies. Mostly because I am a wuss and get scared easily. Seven is a great thriller that is tense and full of suspense, but not many scenes that scare me. I get chills, but that's because of how the killer operates. Reminds me of real serial killers.

You may not know it but I am a bit of a comics book fan (probably why I dig Scott Pilgrim so much.) I have a small collection at my parents' home and read all the ones my older brother owned. It should be no surprise then to find out I'm a big fan of any of the Batman movies. The Dark Knight Rises is my favorite though. Heath Ledger was brilliant as the joker - something that worried me because I loved Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Tim Burton's version. I loved the music too and bought the soundtrack.

I've seen almost all of the Marvel comic book movies as well. When I saw the trailer for The Avengers I was really excited. It looked so good and I was not disappointed. BTW I am a Loki fangirl. Tom Hiddleston's portrayal was drool-worthy. I am dreading the next one because I hear Josh Whedon is promising to kill more characters and I was devastated by the death in the first Avengers movie.

One of the things I love the most about Inception is the music. It is amazing. Soft and gentle and then turns loud and bold. I can picture the movie when I listen to the soundtrack. One song I can picture the death of a character from Being Human. The movie blew me away and I love watching and it trying to find new things I hadn't noticed before.

I may get some flak for this but I have never read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. But seeing the movie counts, right? I think hubby owns the eBook so maybe one day I will pick it up. For now, I'm satisfied with the movie (even though not many people liked it.) The songs always, ALWAYS get stuck in my head. In fact, I'm singing So Long and Thanks For All The Fish right now. It's so damn catchy!

Now I saved my number one favorite for last. Weeks after seeing the movie I am still excited about it, eager for the BluRay release. I read Warm Bodies back in 2011 and loved it. When I found out there was going to be a movie I couldn't wait. It was a wait too, but worth it. I fangirled like crazy over the movie, rereading the book and gobbling up the prequel, The New Hunger.

There you have it, ten ways to get me to spaz out. Don't forget to head to Alex's blog and check out the other participants. You might find a movie you haven't seen yet. ^_~

Warm Bodies was the best, I loved it just as much as the book and we all know how rare that sort of thing is. =D

Hi, I have to see most of these movies, but it looks like a great list. The only movies I've seen were Hitchhikers Guide, The Avengers, Little Mermaid original and sequel. Hitchhikers was so funny. I loved The Avengers. I like Iron Man the best though. I wasn't so little when Little Mermaid came out. My daughter watched it years later. She is 10.

Iron Man would come up next after The Avengers for me. I love Tony Stark and how snarky he is.

We've seen the Little Mermaid Sequel. Just the second one. The first five minutes of it. I never thought we would get uncomfortable watching it ... Awesome list! I still need to see Warm Bodies. :)

I think I've held off on the Little Mermaid sequel because most Disney sequels aren't that good and I want to hold onto my childhood love of the original and not have anything ruin it.

Have you read the prequel, The New Hunger? That's good too. You get to see Julie, R and Nora before they meet.

The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies. I used to sing "Part of Your World" all the time and it's still one of my favorite shower songs.

I too was pleasantly surprised by Scott Pilgrim and I adore The Avengers.

I remember when I was little and in water I'd pretend to be a mermaid.

I haven't seen many of the items on your list here but I did really enjoy those I have seen! Probably the one I least agree with is the Avengers - I personally was underwhelmed by it, even if I did enjoy it. I totally <3 the Little Mermaid, though :)

You are the first person I've met that wasn't blown away by the Avengers! lol

I know, I'm "special". haha. Seriously, I think it was probably mostly the extreme hype, like "even my friends who generally don't even like movies LOOOOVED this movie", that made me think it would be the most amazing movie ever made, ever. So seeing it after all that was a bit of a letdown ;)

03/19/2013 9:15pm

@Trisha, that was a hyped up movie. I imagine the next one will be just as hyped up. lol

I have linky followers and network blog followers in the sidebar to the right. Do you have adblock? Although, no idea why it would block that because as far as I know it doesn't block follower stuff for me. o.O
