to share and encourage other writers because we are an insecure bunch. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
This month I'd like to express my thanks to all who have been encouraging and helping me. One of my June #writemotivation goals was to stop being shy and ask for help. I did it twice and both times the response blew me away. People were willing to help! And if they couldn't they gave encouragement.
I tend to assume people are busy with their own things to bother giving me a hand. I'll make time for them, but don't expect them to do the same for me. And in the past, I've had that happen. Someone offered help then never went through with it. I didn't want to bug them either because I told myself there was a good reason (sometimes there was) and I shouldn't bother them. It's not exactly a bad thing I don't expect help in return, but at the same time, it's not a good thing.
I'm going to work on breaking this bad habit. I'm not inconveniencing anyone by asking for an update. I'm not in this alone. I'm worthy of receiving the same help I give others.
