I can't really say I have any pet peeves, especially while reading. I tend to get lost in the books I pick up and not pay any attention to the craft of writing.
Now, my insecurities. I'm getting somewhere with Mistakes of the past and I'm thinking about editors and cover art. The first isn't an issue. I hired Chry Fey for my last book and she did a great job, so I'll probably drop her a line. Nope, my problem is cover art. I have ZERO idea what the cover should look like. I can't very well email a cover artist with no clue to what to tell them. They won't know enough about my book.
I might as well post the rough draft of the blurb and maybe IWSG can help me out. =D
Luc seeks atonement for the actions that banished him from his home. Living as a priest in a small town, he strives to show how much he’s changed. Maybe one day he can be forgiven and return to his family.
Rose is haunted by the guilt over the accident that destroyed her family. Shutting her heart off, she vows to never let love hurt her again. When she meets Luc, she is drawn to him. He’s escaped his past, something she desperately wishes to do.
But the past is not easily forgotten. When Luc’s finds him, Rose is caught in the middle. Forced to face who he used to be, Luc must decide if he’s willing to give up his chance at redemption to save Rose. Doing so means he won’t be able to hide who he is anymore. Will Rose be able to reconcile the man she knows with the devil he used to be? Or are the mistakes of the past too damning?
