#AtoZChallenge: G is for Gnossienne

This year, my theme for the challenge is Strange Feelings: weird and possibly made up words to describe feelings we all have. I'll let you guess if the word is real or not.

Gnossienne

––a moment of awareness that someone you’ve know for years still has a private and mysterious inner life
I had known Danni since third grade when her family moved to our small town. We were inseparable all throughout middle school. High school we drifted a little bit when we got boyfriends, but when I was dumped, we rekindled our friendship.

So when she walked into the restaurant, sat across from me and said, "Sorry, I'm late. I had an appointment." my mind was blown. It was like a battering ram. The realization there were things about her life I wasn't privy too. Suddenly, it wasn’t my best friend in front of me, but a complete stranger.

Hmmm I'm going to go with it's a made-up word, but I really like it, and think it could be a useful word :)

vrey nice. had a sad deja vu feeling. A hard moment , beautifully captured in flash fiction

Stopped by from the #atozchallenge. I wrote on G for goals, guilt and grief ! Here are the two most inspirational yet sensible ideas that appealed to me https://archanablogs.wordpress.com/2017/04/08/g-for-goals-and-guilt/

Now we need to know what the appointment was for and whether it is anything serious. I get how your character feels, an appointment could be for anything and why would your best friend not know about it? I think it's a made-up word too but I like it.

Oh yes, That has happened often with me. I would think that I am pretty close to someone and in their inner circle and later I would realize that I am pretty much on the outermost circle

I like this word because I know that feeling! Plus, I'm so private that years can go by and friends of mine will discover something about me that surprises them. I have a friend of 10 years who didn't know that I fold origami until a few weeks ago. I just don't think about sharing it because I'm not all that great at it. My mom can fold at least 20 shapes from memory and she used to have 70 memorized, so my 2-3 memorized figures put me in the "barely a beginner" category.

Hello, fellow A-to-Zer! I like this; it is a good word (and if it is a real word, I have to admit I haven't encountered it before) and you illustrate it well.

First of all, I love the word! (my gamertag on the Xbox is Vanessienne :) ) and secondly, I think I try to do this with my husband. It keeps him on his toes, lol. :D

Great word!

"Sorry I had an appointment"? That's what made her think she was a stranger? Now, if she didn't then explain, I could see it.

This one sounds like a real word of French origin, although I don't know if you created the special meaning for it or not! Will you be telling us at the end? (I think I've even played a piano piece called Gnossienne before.)

Anyway, very cool word! And I have definitely had this feeling. :D
