This year, my theme for the challenge is Strange Feelings: weird and possibly made up words to describe feelings we all have. I'll let you guess if the word is real or not.
Rubatosis
––the unsettling awareness of ones own heartbeat
Dear Diary,
Do you hear it? The low thump-thump. It's everywhere I go. Always with me. Especially at night. When it's the world stops to slumber, the steady beat is the loudest and most distracting. I can't sleep because I'm too busy listening. Sometimes I lay my hand on my chest and press down, trying to silence it. My only relief is when I'm at school. Everyone is so loud that it drowns the sound out and I can relax. I'm so tired of it. I want it to stop. To find out more about the April A to Z Blogging Challenge and join the fun click here!

When I take my nap, I often have to wrap my ears in the quilt to muffle the echo of my heartbeat in my ears. It is a weird sensation. I'm guessing rubatosis may be one of the real words.
