Well, I survived the challenge, so now it's time again to reflect on how I did and if I saw any need for improvements.
This year I struggled more with the challenge because of my day job. I kept up for the most part, but there were a few days I was too tired and only read short posts. A few Sundays I had to work too so I couldn't use that day for catch up either. But I only fell behind a couple times and only for a day.
That's half the challenge!
Only a few new names popped up in my comments throughout. I think the list is so giant now that it's just impossible to gain more than a couple new followers. We all get lost easily and the numbers shift as non-participants are culled. I gained four new followers through Bloglovin' and one through Feedburner, though. If anyone followed any other way, let me know in the comments. I'm curious.
Like last year, I didn't see a lot of room for improvement. The hosts have a blog where they can emphasis the focus of the challenge and visiting blogs, as well as give tips. I do wish they require use of tags. I've always used the WR tag and seek out those blogs, but so many don't. Maybe if everyone did then more people would find blogs they enjoy to follow. Currently, it's a guessing game to what the blog's focus will be. The tricky part to that is not all blogs' themes will be what their focus is. Example: I'm following a blog who is writing, but their theme is cakes. But I still think it'd make it easier to find blogs if we all gave some clue to what we're about.
Now, I'm going to take next week off from blogging. I think I've earned the break. See you back here on May 16th!
