Happy Halloween and happy release day to me. Mistakes of the Past is officially available for purchase. (Well, it's been available for a bit because I needed the links before today, but we'll just ignore that inconvenient fact.)
Today, I thought I'd share one of my favorite scenes in the book. I also figure it must be good because my beta readers and editors made notes that simply said, "LOL!"
Holy crap. Mistakes of the Past's release is coming up, and I have not pimped the book enough on my blog. For Path of Angels, I was posting every Monday leading up to the release of each book. This month, though, I'm participating in a few hops, and those are taking up my Mondays. For the rest of the month, I'm going to do a special Wednesday post because I have to convince you all to buy my new book. (Might as well be honest. =P)
Every Friday is Celebrate the Small Things with Lexa Cain, Tonja Drecker and L.G. Keltner.
The rules are blog about something good in your life. It can be something little or something big, but the goal is to find the positive in life and celebrate it. Then hop around the linky list on Lexa's blog and see what others are celebrating.
Holy crap. Why do I go from zero book news to ALL THE BOOK NEWS?????? Seriously, I need to stop being all or nothing. I did that with my newsletter (you should really join to get sneak peeks before everyone else.) Nothing for a few months, then I sent out two in a month. Since I have so much to share, I figured I might as well round it all up into one post.
Back in January, I blogged about my internal debate about whether I should put Path of Angels wide or leave it in KU. Well, as I'm sure you've guessed from the title, I finally made a decision, got off my butt (or on it given I have to be at the computer to do this) and got Michael off KU and uploaded to Smashwords.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! And what better way to celebrate when you can't drink alcohol like me than with some awesome paranormal romance and urban fantasy books? These stories are on sale for a limited time, but if you have Kindle Unlimited (KU), you can read them any time for free! KU is as good as finding a pot of books at the end of the rainbow. (Can you spot mine? Yup, Mike is in there.)
One thing readers may notice when they dig into Abducted Life is the strange thing I did with my chapters. Instead of the traditional Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, and so on, I started with Chapter: Xxxx. The next chapter is Chapter: Savannah. It alternates with whose POV the story is in. After a certain point where I stop using Xxxx. The reason for that is I didn't want Evan's name used up until a certain point. His name is in the blurb and mentioned once in that first chapter so readers know who's POV we are in when not in Savannah's, but after that, you won't read it again for a while.
Y'all... Y'ALL! Abducted Life's release day is finally here and you have zero idea how long I've been waiting. I had everything prepped in advance because I didn't want to mess up and miss release day and have Amazon revoke my pre-order privileges. Having that link early is nice for marketing purposes. Not to mention it's been TWO years since I published. I swear that's my lot in life. Every two years the stars align and let me crank out something for people to read.
Anyways, all over the internet, my book is getting pimped out. I thought I'd start here with the motivation behind the story.
Since Abducted Life is coming out next week (HOLY CRAP!) I figure it's time to whet your appetite with a teaser. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
White-hot light stung his eyes. The roar of an engine shook his eardrums, threatening to burst them. His arms and legs were pinned to the cold ground. Above, a massive craft hovered. It was black and sleek, like a giant Porsche with wings instead of wheels. Turbines beat out a frantic rhythm, and yellow lights flashed along its belly. With a low warble, the craft lifted up, vanishing among the stars in a matter of seconds.
