Often, objects lead us to memories.

The objects we hold most dear, harbor the most cherished memories.

For the CHERISHED Blogfest, we invite you to talk to us about one of your cherished objects. Tell us what it is, post a picture of it if you like, and tell us why you cherish it.

Hosted by Dan Antion, Peter Nena, Sharukh Bamboat, and Daily (W)rite.

It was tricky narrowing down a cherished object for this blogfest. I have a few items that are near and dear to my heart. When it came down to my final picks, I couldn't decide which to highlight.

So I went with both.

Cassette tapes have become obsolete. I don't even own something I could use to listen to them if I wanted, but I held onto a few. If you know me, you won't be surprised that they are Green Day tapes, Dookie being my favorite. I fell in love with Basketcase the moment I saw the music video (which was also the first time I heard the band.) Getting rid of the cassette just because I have the CD was not an option. (And getting rid of the CD just because it's on my computer isn't an option either.)

My other cherished items are some toys from my childhood. When going through my toys to donate, these were three I couldn't part with.

I'm totally with you on the things that are impossible to throw away, just because. It was lovely to learn about the things you cherish, and the history behind them :-D

This is a fun idea! I don't have any photos, but my cherished items would have to include binders of genealogy research into our family history.

I still have my Pound Puppy too. He's black and named Midnight. He's my son's now. I used to have the mommy dog with pups too. Have a terrific weekend!

I don't think we have any cassettes, but I'm not parting with my CDs either. (Despite the fact that a thousand of them take up a lot of shelf space.)

Hi. Thank you for participating in the #Cherished blogfest. I have enjoyed reading your post. I also still love cassettes. Such things when I look at them I remember how much things have changed. Thanks.

I don't know whatever happened to my Pound Puppy. I do know, however, that my niece made off with my Cabbage Patch Kid horse.

(I held on to a few of my cassettes, too. I can't play them, either, but I kept them anyway.)

Fun blogfest!

Some things are hard to throw out! I recently went through my stuffed animals and got rid of a bunch but there are still so many I can't part with.
Hey, I keep all my CDs because what happens if my computer crashes? I'm not paying for all that music again. :P

Selecting just one to post on is hard. I like the fact that you kept some keepsakes from your childhood. They come attached with memories.

I don't have cassettes, nor any childhood toys. With travel, and with the years, things have fallen by the wayside. What I do have are their memories.

My daughters have their favorite stuffed animals they will never depart from. It's like they are family members. To them. Not me. These stuffed animals creep me out as the come in my room at night and stare at me.

I've got lots of cherished soft toys hidden away in our house they belonged to my daughters when they were young. Difficult to throw out/give away as a bunch of memories seem to be attached to them. Interesting to read your post about your cherished things.
