In keeping with my family is special theme, I thought I'd share with you what caused his heart attack. It wasn't because of high cholesterol. His was high, but he adjusted his diet and started drinking a glass of wine a day. The result was he lowered it by around 80 points, if I remember correctly.
Now, if you're thinking, "THEN WHAT CAUSED HIS HEART ATTACK? ARE YOU SAYING IT CAN HAPPEN WHEN YOUR CHOLESTEROL IS GOOD???? NONE OF US ARE SAFE!!!" I need you to calm down. Yeah, that's kind of a scary thing to think about. It definitely crossed my mind. A kind of "Holy crap, it can happen to anyone!" moment.
What happened was a bit of plaque got stuck up in an artery and exploded or something. I don't remember exactly what Mom said, but I do remember her saying it was only one artery, all the others were fine, and it was just this one bit of plaque that screwed everything up. It was basically a fluke. Yup, no one is safe.
But you can look on the bright side.
Only my family would be the ones not to do heart attacks the right way. I told my doctor once that we don't do health issues normally. Which confused her. But it's true. My grandma had her lung cancer tumor shrink years after she was finished with chemo. If you aren't related to me, you should be safe. If you are... sorry?
