Anyways, we all know that charity is an awesome thing. Helping those charities out always makes a person feel good about themselves. When I found that I could pick a charity that would get a donation every time I used Amazon.com (which I use a fair amount of time) I signed up.
And now you can too!
*Cue game show music*
Each purchase will donate .5% to the charity. Not a whole lot and there are naysayers who think that's too small an amount. And I will agree they have a point, but if you use smile.amazon.com EVERY time you shop, then that .5% will add up. It's like what bank or credit cards do where they round purchases up and throw those few cents into a savings account. Those pennies add up over time.
Now, think of how many people shop at Amazon. What if everyone did it? .5% of EVERY purchase of EVERY customer? A quick google search of how much money Amazon makes a year gave me a number of $92 MILLION for 2015. Now, I'm sure there's more into that number, but imagine if that was pure profit, and .5% of that went to charity, that'd be $460,000 donated. Wow.
Sometimes it doesn't take a grand effort to do a good thing. A million small gestures can work just as well.
