This month's co-hosts are Tonja Drecker, Diane Burton, MJ Fifield, and Rebecca Douglass!
Last month, I paid for a promotion on Fiverr for Michael. It got me over 300 downloads in one day. I figured some of that had to translate into sales at some point, right? That's how it works. You give away a ton of books in hopes that a handful will read and think you're good enough to throw money at.
I'm 99% sure that's what is happening with my book sales. Or at least for a few days it did. I hadn't paid for any promotion, but out of the blue in a span of three days I got 15 sales!
That's huge for me. I've struggled to wrap my head around promotion. I even wrote a post over at StoryDam asking if writers should pay for promotion. Sometimes it's hard to justify spending the money. Writers aren't the richest lot out there either.
Promotion is a necessity, but I've feared that my attempts are in vain because I don't have the cash to go big. I can spend a little here and there, but the majority of the time, it never makes me more money than I've spent. It's nice to have something work out in my favor. I just want to take a moment to celebrate that.
PS: I caved and am trying Facebook again. Can I get a like?
