#miparacon Fangirling Part Four

On Twitter, when I was writing these posts, I said it went from one post, to two, to four. I'm amending it to five because I have a book haul to share. Last year, I think I came home with five or six books. This year I bought eight. One was from a fellow indie author. INDIES FTW!

By the second half of day two, the chairs we sat in were getting uncomfortable. I should have put on the survey about the con that the audience should get the same chairs the Q&A people got. Those looked comfy. Ernie Hudson especially enjoyed his!

My pictures on day two are a little better because I brought my camera. Still, I had to turn down the resolution to get more than a few pictures. No idea what happened because it use to take a ton of high resolution images.

Last year, Rosemary Ellen Guiley spoke on Djinns, which aren't as friendly as Disney's Aladdin made them seem! This time, she was talking Ouiji boards. The original guest speaker was Robert Murch, but he had to cancel due to back surgery and couldn't fly. The history of the board is interesting. Especially the fact it's sold as a toy is because The IRS said so because of tax reasons.
It's surprising how lighthearted and goofy ghost hunters are. Amy Bruni and Adam Berry were good examples. They shared funny stories (one of Adam's ended with basically a fart joke) and had everyone laughing. At the end, Adam sang a song. Danielle has video of that.
Josh Gates was the guest I was most excited to meet and see. At his table, I flat out told him I was fangirling over him and couldn't stop smiling. Maybe that's why I'm blurry in our picture. I was vibrated with happiness. For his pictures, I bumped up the resolution on my camera, but it still kept being stubborn and at one point wouldn't focus! Josh did Q&A the whole time and even called Ryder to tease her about missing the con. That was hilarious. Well, I'll show you the video.
Then, Jeff Belanger called and asked Josh if he wanted a drink from the bar. After that, no more calls, but both were funny. Josh got down to business with the Q&A. I even asked a question. What I noticed about Josh was the way he interacted. At his table, he made a point to say "Thank you, Patty". Not just "Thank you". As he answered my question, he looked at me and addressed me as well as occasionally looked at everyone else. He did that with other questions too. Focused on the person who asked.

Everyone at the con was incredibly nice. Jael probably thought I was stalking her because I said hi more than once. It was exciting, tiring, and terrifying. They say bravery is doing something despite being afraid. I was afraid of talking to these people I had seen on TV and admired, but I did it. Sunday I was sapped and spent most of the day sleeping and recharging (so I could write these posts.)

What a really cool experience! I would most definitely have been afraid to talk to them, too, but look at you with conviction on being all brave!!! Go, Patricia!

I figure they are expecting people to come talk to them, so that helped me get the courage.
