Bobby ran into the house. Tears streaked down his cheeks and he clutched his arm. “Mooooom, I fell.”
Kendra wiped her hands dry and rushed to her son. “Let me see, Baby.”
The skin was dirty and his elbow had reddened slightly. Kendra kissed the spot. She rushed him to the bathroom to clean up.
“Can I have a Band-Aid?”
Back in the kitchen, she gave him a cookie. She resumed washing dishes. A thud a moment later was followed by a howl.
“Mooom, I stubbed my toe.”
Kendra returned to her nesh child, ready to soothe his pain.
