This past week I was very quiet online. I had two posts, but there were up on Friday because I wasn't sure how my internet connection would be. Hubby and I were traveling to New Mexico. This past weekend was Gay Rom Lit Retreat. I wasn't attending, but I had a bunch of friends who were, and given the fact hubby and I haven't had a real vacation since we met, we made plans to go. It was a little rocky at first. Hubby's bosses had him working, but he expressed his annoyance and they realized what meanies they were and he got time to go sight seeing. There are a ton more photos on my personal facebook page too.
Plus, I had this awesome shirt made just for my writing partner in crime, Daniel A. Kaine who was going to GRL. I made it pink just for him. ^_~
Lor and I went to the aquarium and zoo. It was writing research, promise! The aquarium wasn't big, but helped me envision the aquarium layout in Squidboy. I still need a title for that story.
Hubby and I got burned hiking in the desert while checking out petroglyphs. Closest I might ever get to cave drawings. Some of them were pretty weird looking. Worth the hiking and climbing to see them.
Drove up to Santa Fe with hubby and wifey. Went to a few art galleries and ate at a yummy restaurant Saw some of Georgia O'Keeffe's works. No one bust into flames at the cathedral. On the way home we saw a dust storm sweeping across the dessert.
And the best part of the whole trip: meeting friends. Met up with my wifey, Lor, writing partner in crime and the Gutter King Almighty, Daniel (promised him no one would see the pictures we snapped of him) and my bestie, Vic. Met a few others as well, but didn't get much of a chance to chit chat. Next year, GRL is in Atlanta. Maybe I'll attend and get to socialize (eek!) more.
