Two weeks ago hubby, a friend and I went up to Pictured Rocks. It's a boat tour that follows some rock formations that are quite colorful due to copper and ore deposits. Of course, my camera batteries died, but thankfully, my cell phone takes pretty good pics. Stole hubby's phone too so I could zoom on a few rocks. Enjoy.
Mostly ore deposits in this cliff face.
The black cave there apparently will still have snow in it up until June.
There wasn't as much copper deposits as I was hoping to see. This was the most vivid one, but a bit hard to capture the color with my cellphone.
This was another cool spot. The tree's roots extend from one rock to another. Used to be a rock bridge, but that fell away and left the roots visible.
Think this was called Castle Rock. Lots of little caves underneath.
Close up. When the sun hit the rocks, it sparkled. Was on the wrong side of the boat on the trip back to capture any pictures of the sun hitting the rocks. I get motion sick too so standing was out of the question.
