I stole this post idea from Elsie Elmore the other day. If I was stranded on an island, what ten books would I want to have with me? Not that easy of an answer since there are so many books. I'll be good like her and not cheat and lump series into one slot.
1)Love at Stake book one: How to Marry A Vampire Millionaire by Kerrelyn Sparks
Why? Because her books always give me a giggle and I'd rather have the beginning of a series than the last book with me. That way I can daydream up the rest of the story while waiting for rescue.
2)Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
Why? The story just rocked. R was an awesome zombie and I loved being in his head.
3)Great Gooblety Gook! Where is Simon's Favorite Book?
Why? Because my sister wrote it and I did the illustrations. I think I'd need the reminder of my family to give me hope that someone better get in gear and rescue me.
4)The Hobbit by JRR Tolkin
Why? Because I loved the story, more than Lord of the Rings. There's just something about Bilbo's adventure that I enjoy.
5)Whology by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright
Why? Because I'm a giant Whovian and need my Doctor Who fix.
6)The Black Unicorn by Tanith Lee
Why: I think the book would be a good reminder that adventure is fun, but can be unexpected. I can tell myself I'm on an adventure that has just taken a slight unplanned detour. Just like the book.
7)Let's Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson
Why? To be reminded to enjoy the craziness life throws at us. (Like being stranded on an island.)
8)The Serial Killer Files by Harold Schechter
Why? Might as well indulge myself in something I'm interested in. I just need to remember to read it when the sun is up. Morning is probably the best time.
9)Bucky Katt's Big Book of Get Fuzzy by Darby Conley
Why: Well, for one, there's pictures, and two, I think it'd be good to have something lighthearted and funny. Gotta keep them spirits up while awaiting rescue.
10)Learn French – Word Power 101 by Innovative Language
Why: Because I'm stuck on an Island so I might as well learn something, and seeing how my dad's side came from France, it's a language I've always wanted to learn.
So there's my books. Go read Elsie's list, then make your own. Or tell me in the comments which books you'd want.
