I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day, so of course I'd sign up for Sarah Foster's bloghop! Since it fell on the 3rd Monday of the month, which I designated as my monthly promo day, I had to decided to combine the promo post with the blog hop. Now, it's just a matter of who to drag to the party...
In the end, it only made sense to these two characters come. Which brings us to the first question Sarah posed.
1. Who did you bring to the party? Is he/she your Valentine or anti-Valentine?
From my second YA novel, Snapshots, Amber dragged Cyclop.
Amber: I wouldn't say dragged. He has super strength and if he didn't want me to take him somewhere, I wouldn't be able to.
Cyclop: *shrug* I don't like crowds. They stare.
Amber ruffles his hair: Because you're so cute.
Cyclop: Yes, pale skin and hair is just adorable.
Amber hugs him: I think you're adorable. He's my anti-Valentine.
2. Which one of you is the more romantic person?
Amber raises hand: ME!!!! I love Valentine's Day. The flowers, the hearts. It's so romantic.
Patricia and Cyclop fight to hide under the table.
3. What gift are you giving to your (anti) Valentine?
Amber: I got Cyc a shirt from the movie Aliens. *grins*
Cyclop: For real?!
Amber: OMG NO! I got you that Humble Bundle that had all those games you liked.
Cyclop breaths a sigh of relief: You're the best.
Amber: I know.
4. Are you guys wearing red or pink (or black...)?
Cyclop: Do you see my skin and hair? Red and pink don't complement me.
Amber: Sorry, purple is my color.
5. Did you bring any Valentine's Day treats?
Amber: Sugar cookies with sweet sayings on them. This one says Love and this one says Call Me.
Cyclop: And this one says Bite Me. What? It's funny.
6. Name a song for our Love Playlist or Anti-Love Playlist (or both)!
Cyclop clamps hand over Amber's mouth: We'll never get a word in. She has multiple songs.
7. Got a great anti/Valentine party game?
Amber: Spin the bottle. *Looks at Cyclop* But only with him.
Cyclop: Don't make me blush. I look like I'm having an aneurysm.
8. Feeling the love or just feeling nauseous? How will you have fun at the party?
Amber: This is the best party EVER! I'm having SOOOOO much fun.
Cyclop: A little both.
Amber: Oh shush, people are only staring cuz you're so cute.
9. Has your characters been good Valentines?
Patricia eyes Cyclop: Well, he could be whinier, but that's why I brought Amber. She forces him to be social. Otherwise, he'd hide in their apartment, playing video games and eating cheesy poofs.
Cyclop: What's wrong with that?!
*Jordan's Bonus Question (feel free to ignore him...): Did you bring me & Sarah a musiversary gift? (Because we've put up with each other for five years and I think we deserve something.)
We brought cookies, isn't that a good enough gift? =PPPPPPPP
It's said the eyes are the windows to the soul, but that's a lie. They are snapshots of a time yet to come–the future of the person to which they belong.
Cyclop Blaine stands out in a crowd with his pale skin and mismatched eyes, but it’s his ability to see the future that really sets him apart. The unusual gift makes him an invaluable asset to Tyler, his adoptive father and leader of the Victory Street Gang. It also means Cyclop must hide what he can do from others. Once, a man he knew only as Master controlled him, using him for experiments. Cyclop has no desire to return to that life.
But he may have no choice. A man claiming ownership over him haunts his dreams and waking moments, leaving him no choice but to go back to the past he thought he had escaped. Cyclop must face this man, along with his past, if he wants to reveal his own future.
