#WriteMotivation Mid-Month Check-in

And here we are, already halfway through August. I think it may be going a little slower than the rest of the year, but not by much. At least I can say I've been pecking away at my goals for the month.
  • Write weekend Picks at Story Dam and Friday Quick Fic
I actually got my Story Dam posts done before Auguest's #WriteMotivation post went up! Most of my Fridays this month have guest posts or blog hops, but I did get one FQF written and posted. It was well received.
  • Promotion Plan
The monthly post went up early because I had another post planned on the 3rd Monday and Tweets are scheduled.
  • Exercise Monday through Friday
Due to Pokémon Go I have been doing a lot, A LOT, of walking each day. I hit 20K steps one day, although, not all of it was due to Pokémon.
  • Read and read some more
Currently reading Coexist by Anna Tan.
  • Write (I'm doing the 50/50 Challenge)
I've been hitting at least 50 words each day (usually more) due to this challenge, but I'm having an issue with the challenge as well and will be blogging about it later.
  • Knit some wrist warmers or a hat
I started a pair of wrist warmers with yarn that has different hues of pink.

At least Pokemon is really helping with the exercise goal. Sounds like you got a lot of things done early.

I think Pokemon Go is boosting everyone's steps taken way more than any fitness regimens. And it sounds like you've been having a very productive month. I can never manage to get anything done in August! :)

Good for you for walking more. That's the one good thing about Pokémon Go. I'm interested in hearing about your experience with the 50/50 Challenge.

Oh wow...is that why everyone's kicking my but on the Fitbit with daily steps? 12,000 steps in a day is a good day for me!

I can't seem to knit anything warm in August. Good for you on making progress.

Wrist warmers - what a great idea! Should have got some wool before the Olympics started... but there's still time, if I go shopping this morning, and I do need milk, too! Do you do them circular, or a square and sew them up afterwards?

I generally get in 20k steps on golfing days, which has been three times a week for the last few weeks, but that'll tail off soon. My problem is when I'm on a writing binge and just sit all day. I have resolve to do my exercise video on those days in future - it's only 30 minutes, after all.

Keep up the good work!

It sounds like you're doing well so far! I'm ready for August, and the summer in general, to be over already.

@Alex, yeah, it's a good motivator to get up and move.

@JE, the beginning of the month was good. I've slowed down since. ><

@Chrys, I think I have the post scheduled for this Friday.

@Stephanie, when I work the day job, I can hit 10K easy peasy because I move a lot.

@Liz, usually in the summer I don't touch my knitting much.

@Jemima, I use double pointed needles and knit in the round.

@Madeline, I'm ready for less humidity and things to calm at work.
