#WriteMotivation: September

Ack! I'm late for my writing goals this month. I didn't forget, but time did get away from me and I wasn't going to worry about blogging Monday because it was a holiday here in the states.
  1. Promo plan for the month––I forgot to do the tweets, but joined Creator Collabs. It's like a site where you RT people and they RT you. There's also a limit on how many RTs you can do so you don't get too spammy. My pinned tweet is boosted there and it currently has gotten 17 RTs. In terms of promo, you probably won't get a ton of sales, but the RTs can help get new eyes on your book and it really only takes 5 minutes a day. I'm also working with Sunrise Author Services to get reviews for my books and so far I've gotten three new reviews for Being Human!
  2. Read another book (I got Kerrelyn Sparks' latest!)––I'm in a slight reading slump. I've started some books, but haven't gotten far. It happens. I go through spurts where I read every night, then days where I don't.
  3. Story Dam weekend picks––Done!
  4. Exercise 5x a week for 15 minutes––I only had one week where I hit all 5 days.
  5. Survive 2 craft shows in one week––I did that and sold a lot of kiddie toys, some jewelry, some artwork, and a few books.
  6. Participate in Celebrate the Small Things (had to dig in Lexa's blog to find the first post.)––I didn't get every week because it's new to me, so I kept forgetting, but I did do it some. Although, it looks like the hop isn't too lively and not many are participating. =(
  7. Write either some drabbles, work on Leaves of Fall, villain scenes for Incubus, or Mistake's sequel (if I combine them then I gotta be able to hit at least ONE of them, right?)––I've been working on rewriting Leaves of the Fall and am at 14700 words.
I did pretty well. There were a few things I did that weren't goals, like Path of Angels is now available in Paperback and a boxed set on Amazon. Mistakes of the Past has a cover (which you would have seen already if you had signed up for my newsletter) and I read through it again. Now, waiting on Chrys to finish her current editing client and get to me. More painting and other crafting.

September should be interesting because I made a big decision recently concerning my day job and health (hint, the boss was sad about it, but understood.) That means I should have plenty of energy for any goals I set, and I'm going to include some craft and art related ones to be held accountable for too.
  1. Monthly promo plan
  2. Story Dam Weekend Picks
  3. Exercise 5x a week for 15 minutes
  4. Continue working on Leaves of Fall
  5. Write some drabbles, fill in villain scenes for Incubus, or work on Mistake's sequel
  6. Celebrate the Small Things
  7. Get Path of Angels boxed set up on Smashwords and to other retailers
  8. Get kiddie crafts made for a craft show I have at the end of the month

That's cool you've been trying different promo plans. I'm going to participate in a Twitter giveaway next month. Something new for me. And yay for working on Leaves of Fall! Hopefully you'll have much less stress this month with the changes.

A lot of bloghops have been fading lately. It's unfortunate. But it sounds like you have a good plan for September. Good luck. :)

I think you did pretty well on your goals and hopefully that trend continues. It's always good to try new things when it comes to promo.

Sounds like you made a good dent in your goals. As for your Etsy shop, have you discovered Marmalead yet? It's a way of narrowing down keywords so you get found in search. (Just add a dot-com to the end of the name.) Hope this helps.

I've been participating in Celebrate the Small Things for about a year now and I've found that I get more comments from bloggers who aren't on the official list. It could be just the way I've been blogging (or not blogging). I know the host got ill and had to quit social media and there haven't been any updates, which is concerning. I'm sticking with it for now because it helps me keep my blog current.
