1: A person who is able to change their appearance, behavior, or attitudes, so as to be comfortable in any situation
Jerry scanned the room and the people gathered. They wore elegant clothing and held their drinks daintily. A person laughed, the manner exaggerated. Classical music played softly.
It took some concentration, but Jerry willed his appearance to mimic what he saw. He smoothed his hair back and stood straight then strode into the crowd. No one noticed him as he wove among them.
He had to suppress a smile. If only they knew the zelig among them. They’d panic and run. People always assumed the worst of his kind. Like they were frauds trying to swindle people instead of survivors.
